My daughter’s boyfriend is a great guy, his whole family is wonderful

 Arizona

My daughter’s boyfriend is a great guy, his whole family is wonderful, except his father, he’s a mess to the point that even when he was still living there, I visited regularly and never met him.

My daughter says he’s a complete jerk but the rest of the family is, well, like family to us.

Apparently his father jumped bond a few years ago, he was caught and arrested a few days ago. Having heard the story from multiple people yesterday, it sounds like he likely would have ended up not guilty on the original charges. He had purchased a car, titled and registered it in his name, a year and a half later it was reported stolen and he was arrested. Because he already had a criminal record he jumped bond and everyone kind of forgot about it until his arrest. Whether the story is 100% true or not doesn’t really affect my question.

If he gets a not guilty verdict on the original charge, does anyone have any idea what kind of sentence he might get for jumping bail?  I really like this family and I love my daughter’s boyfriend, they’re really torn up over this. They’re under the impression that if he is found not guilty on the original charge, he’ll be heading home, which seems unlikely to me. Thank you.
