I have a companion (in kansas) who was working at a well known Dave's and stopped with no notification (not certain if that relivent)

Yet, he was making 14 an hour and when he went to get his last check they had changed his compensation to the lowest pay permitted by law with out telling him by any stretch of the imagination, there was no consent to that before he had stopped.

Is that legitimate?
