My son's father was ordered by the court to call our son twice a week at 7:00 p.m.  Either missed or delayed 80% of the time.

Hey guys, quick question.  My son's father was ordered by the court to call our son twice a week at 7:00 p.m.  Either missed or delayed 80% of the time.  Our son is 3 years old, I told him if he wanted to call that late it had to be 7 o'clock sharp.  Sometimes my son sleeps or doesn't want to talk, the call doesn't go through, but he doesn't ask to catch up.  My question is how long should I wait for this call?  7:10?  7:20?  It drives me crazy to give up at 3:15, which I do because he decides to call that night.  opinions?

He’s asleep by 7? Courts are strange- if you are the parent who has to allow a contact with specific stipulations, you MUST adhere to them, or you’re in contempt. If you need to keep your son up past 7 to wait for his call, then that’s what you have to do and you’re expected to offer to make it up, if your son chooses to refuse talking to him.
On the other hand, if dad is continuously missing court ordered calls, you can go back to court and ask that the mandate be dropped to your discretion.
